The Wildlife Sports and Educational Museum in Amsterdam, New York is an educational, non-profit institution with a mission of promoting an appreciation and understanding of outdoor sports and the traditions of trapping, fishing, and hunting, along with preserving the memorabilia, artifacts, and art related to those traditions. The museum features full-size mounts of deer, buffalo, sheep, mountain lions, bears, wolves, and other wildlife displayed in a life-like setting. More than 500 artifacts are also on display including rifles, fishing gear, and traps.
The Walter Elwood Museum is an official "Path Through History Site" established in 1981 to preserve a school-owned, small museum in the Amsterdam area. The museum includes an extensive collection of around 25,000 artifacts associated with the Mohawk Valley's natural, Victorian, and multicultural history, along with items related to its colorful industrial past.
Amsterdam Castle is a unique historic hotel where people can stay while visiting Amsterdam, NY. The Amsterdam Castle also host weddings, functions, and special events. Constructed by a prolific builder and architect named Isaac Perry, this historic building dates back well before 1827 where a magnificent mansion previously stood in its place in 1736. Perry also designed Albany's famous Capitol Building along with many other notable structures in the Empire State.
The family owned and operated Raindancer Restaurant was first opened by Walter and Doreen Porath in 1980 and has grown quite a lot over more than thirty years. While there have been several improvements, the restaurant still maintains its quality service, quality ingredients, and generous portions. The Raindancer Restaurant is open year-round, seven days a week, except for Memorial Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. Raindancer Restaurant offers special dinners for other holidays, such as Easter or Thanksgiving.

Orapello's Wood Fired Pizza specializes in Neapolitan-style pizza, made with thin-crusted dough with flour imported from Italy, which takes twenty-four hours for the pizzeria to produce. The delicious pizzas made at Orapello's start with fresh high-quality ingredients baked in a 900-degree Italian wood-burning oven. A Taste of Amsterdam is a special event held each year in February and July which offers guests an opportunity to sample a wide variety of specials from local restaurants.
